Mark Gray has been called a serial entrepreneur in the Media and Entertainment industry. He has had a long and successful career in the founding of companies including GrayMeta, and in the development of products and technology for the Broadcast, Professional Television, and digital media markets.
Virtually every television station and production facility in the world utilizes some technology for which he was responsible.
The development of the SAMMA migration process was awarded a technical Emmy.
Gray holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
from the University of Tennessee, a Master of Arts Degree in Communication from St. Louis University, and is a graduate of the School of Executive Development of the Babson College graduate school of business.
He has also served on the boards of directors of several companies including EGT, Telco Television Corporation,
and Giant Studios. Gray is a Fellow of the
Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE).
Chi has over 28 years of product development experience in the professional television broadcast and film industry.
He has designed and developed some of the industry’s most renowned products used by the largest television networks, studios and institutions around the world.
He was awarded an Emmy Award in 2011 for Technology and Engineering achievement by The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and received the United Kingdom’s Queen’s Award for Innovation and Technology in 1997.
Chi previously held positions as CTO of ArchiMedia Technology, Inc. Vice President of Engineering at Front Porch Digital, Chief Technology Officer at SAMMA Systems, and Chief Engineer at Snell & Wilcox.
Bob has worked in television and media production for over 30 years, helping major broadcasters and media companies integrate hardware and software to stay innovative and effective in an ever-changing landscape.
Bob was also one of the founders of SAMMA Systems, GrayMeta's videotape migration and digitization solutions. He has been all over the world helping large archives (such as the Library of Congress) preserve history and democratize access to the millions of hours of content otherwise trapped on tape. Bob sets the bar very high for customer service and support and is beloved by the many people he has helped over the years.
Bob is also an award-winning director and producer. Bob’s ground-breaking, haunting film Charlie Victor Romeo premiered at at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival where it received critical acclaim. The project has won over 15 awards including a Drama Desk award and an award from the Department of Defense.
